Giotto's Revolutionary Fresco in Padua

In 1305, the sounds of brushes and hammers echoed through the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Italy. Giotto di Bondone, already a renowned painter at the time, stood on scaffolding, meticulously applying colors to the fresh plaster. The chapel was commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni, a wealthy banker, who wanted this work to atone for his family's sins.
